Possible Next Movie’s Possible Space Vehicle
April 21st, 2011 by Greg TylerA possible next shoestringscifi.com movie production, which exists only as some scattered thoughts in my head, might require a new space vehicle. Here are some of the “requirements” for this vehicle, based on how I see it being used in the story:
- Minimum required crew: 1 or 2
- Maximum crew capacity: 5 to 12
- Able to take off vertically from a planetary surface with or without an Earth-like atmosphere. In other words, the vehicle should be able to take off vertically from Earth, or Earth’s moon, or… you get the idea.
- Able to reach escape velocity from an Earth-like planet.
- Able to travel within Earth’s solar system.
- Must look to a layperson like it could be constructed within the next 50 years, given virtually unlimited funding, research and development, etc.
- Must look to a layperson like it might actually work in the real world. (To an aerospace engineer, it should seem less unfeasible than much of what is seen in sci-fi TV and films.)
- Should have offensive weapons which are reasonably consistent with current scientific thought about space combat.
- Must look “cinematic.”
These requirements will almost certainly evolve and change as my ideas for the next possible movie evolve and change.
Recap: ASTRONUTS Lunch and a Movie Event
April 16th, 2011 by Greg TylerOn April 9, 2011, somewhere between 40 and 50 people watched ASTRONUTS while enjoying a great lunch at Company 7 BBQ, which was recently voted as the Best Barbecue in the Dayton, Ohio, area on ActiveDayton.com.
Among the attendees were Chris Bowles, who played Chip Johnson in the film, Ina Kratzsch, who played Gummia Snax, musician and voice-over talent Constance Sanders, and behind-the-scenes crew members Greg Williams, Amy Tyler and Jack Tyler, as well as yours truly, Greg Tyler.
